Q3- 2010: July- SeptemberPhase II of our construction continues with success! Even with all the rain we have continued to make good progress over the last couple of months. We continue to wire and cut business customers over on to our Network evolution Optics Network. We will continue to move all businesses over in the third quarter. Get ready for Digital TV and make sure you watch for our open house coming soon. We will have 3 digital TV packages to choose from and lots of options for customers. Digital TV will offer DVR and HD packages. Stop into our 603 N Adams office in Carroll to review pricing with one of our Customer Service Representatives.
Q2 - 2010: April - JunePhase II of our construction started and is moving right along at very good speed. Crews continue to pull fiber through conduit and have reached more residential areas. Serving areas that the crews are currently working in consist of Pizza Hut to Fareway, Hwy 30 and Grant Road south to City of Carroll Water Plant and Kuemper Field House to the east to City of Carroll Sewer Plant. Continuing on past the Hy Vee and Kmart area west to Carroll County Engineers, Recycling Cent and Gehling Welding. MP NexLevel is continuing to splice the fiber between the rain showers and will continue to do so as the weather shapes up. We have a total 27 businesses on our fiber network currently. We are continuing to wire customer businesses and cut them over to our Network evolution Fiber Optics Network. You must be a WIN customer in order to get a fiber drop to your home. Contact 888-508-2946 to talk to a Customer Service Representative. Q1 - 2010: January - MarchOur first business customer of New Hope Enterprises was turned on to our fiber telephone and Internet. We continued to convert current business customers on to the fiber and turn up telephone and Internet. We launched our Digital TV campaign- Stay Tuned! Q4 - 2009: October - DecemberPhase I construction is moving right along and, in fact, our contractors are ahead of schedule due to the great weather we have had. We have laid over 30,000' of conduit in and around the downtown area of Carroll. With construction going so well, we have expanded our initial area. Phase I B will extend further west, south and east. This picture gives you an idea of how much we have already completed. At the end of October through November, crews will begin pulling the fiber through the conduit. Then WIN techs will begin bringing that fiber to the homes and businesses of WIN customers. You must be a WIN customer in order to get a fiber drop to your home or business. There are no construction costs to WIN customers to switch to fiber technology. However, if you wait to become a WIN customer, we may not get back to your area until much later in 2010 or 2011 and there may be construction costs. Q3 - 2009: July - AugustWestern Iowa Networks is hosting a number of Open House events to area businesses for them to come in and learn the benefits of having fiber technology for their business. Terry Dickinson will be contacting Carroll businesses now through 2010, to discuss how to get this great technology that will lead your business through the 21st century. Carroll residents! Keep an eye out for a team of WIN employees and volunteers walking around your neighborhood. We'll be hanging door knockers on everyone's house to ensure that everyone knows that Fiber Optics Technology IS coming to Carroll and will be here before you know. As a WIN customer there will be no construction costs to you to bring Fiber to your home. Residents who are located within our Phase I construction grid will be contacted. If you're already a WIN customer we just need to present some forms to you. If you're not a current customer we'd like to have the opportunity to tell you about the advantages of bringing Fiber to your home. Q1 - 2009: MarchIn the middle of March 2009, Western Iowa Networks announced that the RUS had released funds in the form of a loan and will be moving forward on bringing Fiber to the Home (FTTH) to Carroll, IA. For more details on what FTTH is, check out our Frequently Asked Questions. WIN announced the name of their FTTH product as Network evolution. We are starting to take names of people who are interested in getting fiber products. |
